About Michael Cox (Hockey Coach)

An experienced ice hockey coach, Michael Cox has worked with more than a dozen college all-Americans and five Olympic athletes. While completing his bachelor of arts from Merrimack College, he competed on the varsity hockey team under the direction of Ron Anderson. Michael Cox returned to the academic environment nearly 20 years later, earning a master of sports administration with a concentration in leadership from Lasell College. His coursework at Lasell included classes in financial management for sports programs, sports facilities management, NCAA compliance, sports law, media relations, and fund-raising concepts.

Over the course of his two-decade coaching career, he has served in assistant coaching positions with women’s teams at Harvard University and Boston College. He also headed the women’s program at Salve Regina University, turning this struggling team around to achieve a top-5 ranking nationally. He currently leads the girls’ hockey team at Medfield High School in Medfield, Massachusetts, and guides the Boston Junior Huskies of the Eastern Hockey Federation.
